| We are an inter-denominational church. That means that we excersize some degree of tolerance with regard to what we require of our members' beliefs. Some of our members are Catholics. Others are Eastern Orthodox. Others are Evangelicals and still others are of mainline Reformed traditions. We believe that there is only one mystical body of Christ. And we are all members of His body. Christ is not divided. However, between the idea of unity and the fact that there can only be one real truth there is a certain tension that exisits. It is our belief that Christ Himself, if He is truly sought, will help us to come together in a unity that He alone can create and discover Him in His fulness in His own time and design.. |
| The apostle Jude spoke of "the faith once for all delivered to the saints (Jd 1:3). This is the faith of the apostles which has been handed on to us. The most reliable and authoritative source we have for evidence of this faith is found in the Holy Bible. Therefore, All Night Church, even though it is inter-denominational, is also Bible-centered. We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God.
At the same time we do not view the traditions of the church negatively even if we believe in reform. We seriously consider and contemplate, as well as seek dialog with all of the churches. We are happy to consider the writings of the church fathers and of all great and revered Christian leaders throughout history. We do not place these writings above the Bible itself in authority but offer respect and reverence where these are due. |
| We also believe that Jesus Christ is the Word of God become flesh. Therefore, we are Christ centered, both as His undivided mystical body, and as a people who seek His face ... |
We believe in One God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And we believe in one Lord Jesus Christ - God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God - begotten not made, who is one in essence with the Father. By Him all things were made. He was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered, died and was buried. On the third day he arose from the dead and appeared to many. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father. Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified. He spoke by the prophets. We believe in one holy universal and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. |
